Amadeo Church Love of God Tour 2011 blessed us with 25 energetic volunteers this summer for much needed re-organization and cleaning. We LOVE our volunteers.
Stay tuned for more opportunities to get involved or check our URGENT NEEDS.
"Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love." ~ Mother Teresa
Restore Nonprofit, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization serving the Phoenix Area East Valley, and is dedicated to connecting our community to its resources by offering food help, utility assistance, and encouragement to families in need.
We average approximately 300 food boxes distributed per month with April 2011 one as one of our highest months. This equates to over 3000 pounds of food and 200 families served. Thank you volunteers and financial partners for helping us make this happen.
Sarah Baker
Amadeo Church missionary, Sarah Baker has been one of our favorite volunteers at RE:STORE. Her easy smile and compassionate manner have been much appreciated by staff as well as those we serve. She recently completed her service at Restore and we will miss her dearly.
A VULNERABLE FUTURE

When asked what would you like to do to serve our community, Shelly Vance-Kohler simply answered, "I want to have a food pantry". And RE:STORE Non-Profit was born.
It started out as two shelves of non-perishable foods in her garage and distribution by appointment. What was a simple act of kindness then has turned in to something she and her husband Jon never imagined.
Since those first humble days, they have moved in to a space where they can store more food, (including refrigerators and freezers full of meat) as well as small household items. They purchase food for about 12 cents a pound from the local Food Bank and distribute an average of 300 food boxes a month (over 3000 pounds of food a month).

WHAT'S NEXT ?
As often happens when one good deed goes out in to the world, RE:STORE has a big vision for future contribution to the community.
Expansion plans are in the works... including a resource center for job serach help, computer skills and bi-lingual helps.
According to 2010 census results, more than 1 in 5 Arizonan's, [including children], live in poverty. Only Mississippi has a higher poverty rate. This equates to 21.2 percent or 1.4 million Arizonans live in households earning less than the federal poverty level. 45.7% of single parent families with female head of household live below the poverty line. The federal poverty level for a family of 4 is $21,954.

Community Family Assistance: We are connected to several churches that are willing to come alongside families for personal and emotional support. If you or someone you know would like to receive help please send us a message through our contact us page and we will direct you to a "helpful" church nearby.
We are in need of people willing to help unload food deliveries, organize food on to shelves, pack orders, and help with the routine operations of RE:STORE. If you would like to help please visit the contact page and let us know how. Or you can stop by during our operating hours and talk with one of our friendly staff members.
- personal hygiene items
- household cleaning items
We can't buy these types of items through normal sources; we buy where you buy. Your financial support or direct donation of these items make is possible for us to provide them as needed.
Household and personal hygiene supplies are highly sought after and unfortunately are not always available as we are not able to purchase them at a discounted rate as we do with food supplies. Any donations of these types of products is greatly appreciated.
Because of our partnership with the local Food Bank, every dollar donated purchases six pounds of food for needy people in our community. This means every dollar COUNTS. Donations of ANY SIZE enable us to continue our services, raise awareness about RE:STORE and increase our outreach efforts.
